The Panel Members will share their inspirational stories, explaining the paths they’ve taken to get to where they are today

This workshop will cover:

  • Making your CV stand out
  • What is networking and how to do it
  • Using social media to get a job
  • What does having an online footprint mean and why you need to starting thinking more seriously about it
  • Body language tricks and how to appear to be more confident

This workshop will cover HTML email Templates:

  • Adding signature’s to your footer of your emails
  • Adding a logo to the footer of your emails
  • Linking your social platforms from your emails
  • Styling e.g. playing with font size and adding colour to the emails

Within this workshop you will be challenged to think like a computer; given a problem which is easy and intuitive for a human to understand and solve. Can you come up with a computational solution to it? A computational solution is one that a computer can follow which utilises the speed and accuracy of a computer to solve the problem.

This workshop will cover:

  • The best resources to help you find a job in tech
  • Different journey options – traditional methods aren’t the only way to success
  • Finding the jobs available in the tech industry
  • Understanding the job application process

There will be Panel Members from various organisations, explaining where you can go/what you need to do to get your career in Tech started.

Still need convincing? Here are some additional facts for you:

  • In 2012 it was reported that the Digital Economy needed an additional 3,000 people to take up employment just to stand still, but as the UK digital economy is growing 32% faster than the rest of the economy and is creating jobs 2.8 times faster, there are plenty of opportunities available.
  • The fast moving nature of technology means that 65% of school children will be working in roles that do not exist yet, indicating the importance of not only addressing the current skills gap but also future employment needs.
  • We’ve got an exhibitor area, where you’ll have the opportunity to discuss the various roles available and tech in use directly with the organisations/businesses on show
  • You’ll also have the opportunity to win an Arduino Kit and some free training by entering our Exhibitors Competition

So why wait? Come see for yourself what type of jobs/careers are available, join us on 25th April in Bangor University. Register for this free event now!
